Coffee

A good coffee has striking and accentuated characteristics, with aromas that can mark a more pleasant morning or late afternoon. The Brazilian knows well how this is, since Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of these grains in the world.

Despite not being the largest consumer, lagging behind countries such as Finland, Denmark, Belgium and Italy, the largest country in South America produces about 50 million bags per year, having reached a record 63 million bags in 2020.

Coffee crops in any region of the world are greatly influenced by climate. In principle, coffee cultivation recommendations indicate regions where the temperature can vary between 18ºC and 22ºC.

Today, about 50% of the Brazilian coffee production is located in Minas Gerais State. Arabica coffee is the largest planted among the types of beans harvested in the country. This type is derived from Ethiopia and is one of the first coffee species grown in the world.

Brazil, interestingly, is the country that produces and exports the most coffee on the planet. About 300,000 farms are spread across the country, with a total area of approximately 2.3 million hectares of production.

For more than 150 years, Brazil has been the leading coffee producer in the world; New crops should have considerable increase.

The large concentration of coffee growers increases the expectations of good business during the current period. In the year 2020, Brazil successfully reached the mark of 63 million bags of coffee, that is, a high of 28%.

The current harvest continues with the potential to increase the export of Brazilian grains. With a daily average of 116,507 bags, Brazil reached a revenue of US$589.649 million with an average price of US$271.20 per bag. Still in comparison with 2021, according to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), the country obtained an increase of 84.4% in average daily revenue in July, with an average daily volume shipped of 7.6% higher, as well as the average price skyrocketed to 71.4%.
